Tyrone McCants of Proud Poppas United speaks to the youth of Andries Hudde Middle School I.S. 240

Tyrone McCants had the privilege of being a Honored Guest Speaker at Andries Hudde Middle School’s Annual Men’s Career Mentor Day in Brooklyn, NY. He also facilitated several classes with the male eighth graders where he gave his personal testimonial on his career as an independent photographer and small business owner of Zire Photography & Graphic, a Youth Consular and Advocate, and the founder of Proud Poppas United. Mr. McCants spoke with the young men about their future endeavors, talents, goals and interests and how they can advance and achieved them.

Each young man was given a project to create a resume of where they can see themselves five years from now. During our “Meet and Greet Lunch” each student had the opportunity to interview with various other career male professionals honorees.

Mrs. Elena S. O’Sullivan, Principal and Zoraida Clemente, Parent Coordinator and faculty of Andries Hudde Middle School state: “Our goal is to inspire our children and instill in them that reaching their dream careers starts with perseverance and focus on their education. We strive to encourage our young boys and girls to be better leaders today for the leadership of tomorrow.”
